Today when Jack and Theo were 'negotiating' over who should get to play with a toy, I heard Jack say, 'the oldest kid gets the blessing, Theo'. Then before I could intervene, Jack said with a mixture of hope and hesitation in his voice, 'Mom, I think that was just in the olden days, right?'
Only his conscience kept him from pulling this one over on his younger brother! Too funny.

That would make a great sermon illustration of how we sometimes try to use scripture to justify our own wants.
