Today at lunch I turned on the burner on the stove. At this point Jack gets up and shuts the kitchen door. I ask him why? He states in a very matter-of-fact tone that every time I turn the stove on the fire alarm goes off and he wants to keep the door shut to prevent this from happening.
If this isn't enough of an insult, Theo then bursts into a belly laugh.
No respect around this place!

Remember how Grandmother's fire alarm went off every time she cooked and she would yell, "shut up" at it? Pretty strong words for a gentle southern lady. Seems to me that setting off fire alarms must run in the family.
